Western Territories // Snake Head Rock

A great legend surrounds the peculiar mouth-shaped rock, located not too far from the abandoned temple in the part of the forest not owned by SnowClan. Fifty moons ago, when the Clans were just beginning to settle into their territories after Bloodshine's death, a great stone snake burst from the ground and began terrorizing SnowClan and the clanless cats living in that area. It’s fabled that the Clan leader at the time, Duststar, stood up and defeated the beast at the cost of his last life. GalaxyClan then turned the head of the monster to stone so Duststar's bravery would never be forgotten. The stone itself, decorated to look like a gaping jaw with teeth and eyes, is a favorite of young cats as they attempt to climb it and relive the legend, or dare one another to climb between the teeth. Small rodents are common to the area, but so are Twoleg children in the warmer seasons.
