accessories/scars. he has no scars. owen wears round golden glasses, although he only really needs them for reading close up things, but often keeps them on anyway because he's usually reading 24/7.

appearance. owen bates has chestnut short brown hair with matching brown, round doe eyes. he has bushy brown eyebrows, a pointed and slightly wide nose with average lips. he has a well built athletic body and is rather tall.

personality. owen is a curious, hard-working and intelligent scientist working at the sanctuary. he tries his best to study and observe the patients and their powers. it's a plus because of his fascination with them and sometimes finds them as if they were specimens like a new species of animal. although he may be naive and slow to understand people, he is genuinely a kind and friendly person.

history. owen grew up always the top of his class, and especially took interest in science. moving onto high school graduation, owen chose to go to a very expensive, but top university for sciences. during his time there, he found a post on the university board online about the sanctuary looking for scientists on "new-found discoveries". most people urged him not to go because it wasn't very specific and seems sketchy since they specialized in mental illnesses, not the sort of science he was into; chemistry, physics, and similar studies. however, owen was looking for something new and went in for a job interview; he was hired for his record of intelligence on the topic they were hiring for. even though he feels like something is telling him in the back of his head that treating the patients the way they do is wrong, he keeps being reminded of the opportunity of working with abilities like those.
