Registration and Auditions

01. Aegritudo is a one account per person site. We do not require you to make new accounts for each character. Register with your main account with your alias, which is basically what you want everyone to call you. Make sure to edit your username to begin with a capital letter so everything can line up nicely.

02. Within your profile are different settings like privacy, signatures, and avatars. There is only one main avatar which should be no larger than 200x300 pixels. Feel free to fill out the mini-profile as well, where you can add a nickname, current emotion, hobbies, and much more!

03. Each character gets one faceclaim, and the same faceclaim cannot be used for more than one character except in the case of twins or triplets (message staff if you're looking to do this). Faceclaims must be real people - artwork is not an acceptable option.

04. Before posting an audition, you'll have to take a look at our [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and read the detailed walkthrough of each section. Making sure that you have everything your character needs will make the process of beginning roleplay much easier!

05. Aegritudo requires that every patient has a physical or mental disability. This is because of the plot and history that heavily influenced them. Physical and mental illnesses can be quite a sensitive topic, so we ask that when picking one for your character that you respect it, and try to roleplay them correctly. Message staff if you are looking to give your character a physical disability or deformity that will influence every aspect of their lives (such as Down syndrome). Workers and civilians will rarely have an illness, unless it is plot related.

06. Aegritudo also requires that all patients have supernatural powers. Anything from the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is acceptable, excluding extremely OP ones such as immortality. However, if you would like a shorter list of the most common powers, our [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is available to your advantage. Make sure to read the prologue of our power guide for more information on how powers will work in the roleplay.

Out of Character

01. The forum staff is here to help with any of your questions and concerns. A red name means they are an administrator, and a purple name means they are a moderator. Staff is here to enforce the rules as well, so ignoring them or breaking rules will only result in the basic consequences. If you are behaving inappropriately, you will be issued two (2) warnings. If you continue to troll, spam, or annoy other members, you will be banned from our Discord server and from accessing the forum for twenty-four (24) hours. We as staff are very strict on making our site a safe space for everyone.

02. Advertising may only be done in the designated forum. If it is seen on the chat, Discord server, or in any other forum, it will result in a warning and further consequences if continued.

In Character

01. On Aegritudo, members are expected to handle slightly mature content and swearing. Graphic violence, sex scenes, and other borderline topics are allowed as long as they are marked with content or trigger warnings. However, if someone asks to keep a topic clean, please respect that.

02. Our word count is flexible, but we try to keep the roleplay detailed with action and adventure. With that, writing single sentences in your post is considered spam and will be deleted. Try to write at least three sentences in every post. There is no chatspeak to be used in the roleplay (such as pls, brb, wtf).

03. Roleplay posts should be written in third person, past tense. There is no godmodding or powerplaying, and liquid time is not allowed. We operate on real-time, so a year in real life is equivalent to a year on Aegritudo.

04. In order to keep the site active, we require you to post at least twice a week. It's understandable if you have other things to do, but if you won't be able to respond in the roleplay, please message staff to let us know so we can take care of any of your important characters while you're gone.

05. There is no limit on the amount of characters you can have, but don't go overboard. Only audition fifty characters if you can handle that many, otherwise they'll be deleted for not being active. With that being said, ignored or non-roleplayed characters will be deleted within a month unless you message staff that you will be absent.
