Washington DC's Downtown Empty Washington DC's Downtown

Post by Daisy Tue Mar 31, 2020 6:41 pm

Washington DC's Downtown is a small but bustling city with many buildings and busy roads. It's not too expansive but still has many apartments for rent and small boutiques and snack shops. The tallest building there is an apartment with 56 floors, the penthouse having a large balcony to view the city below and the White House itself just a few blocks down. The penthouse has its own outer elevator and needs a special key to get inside, while the rest of the apartments below them simply need to take the shared elevator.

Elsa walked down the street, a few shopping bags in her hands and over her shoulders. She looked up, slipping between the gaps in the crowds, and pursed her lips once she got to the apartment building. She turned, grabbing somebody by the wrist and pulling them towards her. "Take my bags inside," she started, layering her tone with silvertongue and handing the bags over to the man. "Take... this key," she continued, reaching into her pockets to hand him the key to the elevator, "and go into the elevator, not the public one, the penthouse elevator. Bring the bags to the 56th floor, leave them in the entrance, give the key to the statue in the entrance." She waited for his eyes to go silver and grinned, breathing in the rush the use of her power gave her and turning to the angel statue outside the apartment building. Climbing onto the block it was on, she booped it's nose and fell into it's arms with a dramatic sigh. "I know, I know, but it's so fun," she whined.

Washington DC's Downtown Empty Re: Washington DC's Downtown

Jay sighed as yet another person almost knocked them over by bumping into them as they shuffled past. Their feet felt like they would break any moment now... Which they actually could, the brown-haired teen thought with a cringe. If someone else bumped into them one more time, using their inanimation would be particularly pleasing, but there were too many people around. They stopped to watch by the door of the apartment, noticing as Elsa locked onto her next victim. "You know, you should probably be a bit more careful using that during such a busy hour in public," Jay suggested, sipping at a cup of coffee they had picked up a few minutes ago with a deadpanned expression.

Luciana shoved her hands into the pockets of her black leather jacket, squinting as a strong gust of wind came her way. A harmless invisible spirit that she had summoned earlier floated beside her, carrying her takeout bag. Normally, she would never allow such a thing to happen, but there was hardly any sunlight from the dreary grey clouds that nobody would notice. As the wind settled, she looked up and chuckled at the sight of Elsa. "Good morning, horny-for-statues," she smirked and grabbed her takeout bag. With a quick flick of her wrist, the spirit made a small squeak and disappeared back to it's own dimension. "She'll be fine," she waved a hand nonchalantly at Jay, taking a few more steps so she could sit on the ledge next to the angel statue. "I picked up some breakfast from the diner down the street." she said as she popped the cover off of her hash browns and took a quick bite into one.

"Morning to you, necrophiliac," Elsa answered, giving Jay a wink and turning to kiss the statue on the cheek. "And you, too," she added after a moment, gesturing towards Jay without turning away from the statue. She kissed it again, then sat down at it's feet. She laughed when it commented again, and shrugged. "I've sent my shopping up to the apartment." About to continue, she frowned, and paused. "The others aren't about to get shocked, right?" she asked, then shrugged again. She didn't care, that was their problem. She leaned over to Luciana, picking up one of the hash browns and taking a bite. "Oh, that's what I forgot to do," she continued, listening to the statue behind her talk, "I told him to go up, but forgot to go down," she sighed. "Oh, well. Moa can kill him," she added, leaning back to look at the statue, talking about the other angel statue who stood in the entrance to the penthouse, the one who she'd given a knife to.

Laurel rolled over in bed, tangled up in the sheets. At least they were comfortable. She took off the earphones slash hat which she slept in to block out sound and light, and winced as the sounds of traffic, talking and otherwise entered her ears. Blinking away the remnants of sleep, she frowned at the sound of the elevator coming up. The heartbeat inside it wasn't familiar. She sped out to the entrance, standing behind the wall in a flash. Once the elevators opened, she moved towards him, circling him as he moved in slow motion to her. There was a kitchen knife tucked into her trousers, and she winced at the smell. Men. And there was something extra, which made Laurel take a step back to look at his eyes. Silver. She took a few steps back, moving at a normal speed again to see what he'd do. After he put the key in the statue's hand, she sighed, noticing his eyes had gone back to the colour before. Go figure. She ran, opening a window, then picked the man back up, running out the window and down the wall, dropping him on the street and coming to a halt on the stairs. "You forgot somebody," she commented to Elsa, standing next to Jay and giving the other two a nod.

Washington DC's Downtown Empty Re: Washington DC's Downtown

Jay, still slurping on their coffee's straw, watched as Laurel carried an entire man out of the building and placed him down on the sidewalk. They only stared at the entire commotion for a couple of heartbeats, before deciding to make their way up to the penthouse with a sudden urge to read one of their books.

Ruby sauntered over to join the group of villains greeting each other as they each returned from their own personal morning businesses. As for her, her business was a success, although a tired one. A very, very tired one. She had stayed up the entire night gambling off in one of the downtown casinos; taking advantage of the wealthy, drunk, and stupid with her metal-controlling abilities. But, it was worth the eyebags she now wore and obviously drunk walk. "Good morning to you all, it is a wonderf-hicc-ul day out today!" She drawled out, nearly tripping over herself as her hands were tucked into her coat, most likely stashed with bundles of paper money before making some sort of a hand gesture that was meant to be a wave.
