Hello, new members! We are all so glad you've decided to join AE. We as the staff want to help you adjust to the site, so whether you're entirely new to roleplaying or just brushing up on some skills from older sites, this guide will give you a few pointers on different things to make sure you are comfortable with the site.

how to sign up.

If you're entirely new to Forumotion, then you would go to the navigation bars underneath the homepage banner, and click "register". Fill in all the necessary information and a confirmation e-mail will be sent soon. All you have to do is confirm the request and there you have it, your new account!

touching up your profile.

If you want an avatar, signature, or to touch up your preferences, you may go to the navigation bars and press "profile". It will lead you to all the necessary information you want to fill in for yourself. The different buttons at the top can lead you to each preference, where you can edit your avatar, signature, and notifications. Remember to save your new profile! It will open up a new tab where you will click, "view profile", and you can see your new touched up profile page!

creating a character.

Now that you made an account and have your profile all touched up, it's time to make a character! You can't roleplay until you have created an audition. Click [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to access the forum where you can post your audition.. Lots of newbies have trouble creating characters, but all you have to do is follow [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] step-by-step guide! If you follow that, you won't have to go through the troubles of constantly correcting auditions.

how and where to roleplay.

Now that you've got your profile all touched up and your characters ready to go, you can roleplay and start your adventure! Constant spamming isn't appreciated in the roleplay, and the same rules apply such as no double posting, and no powerplaying, godmodding, or Mary-Sue's. After getting an audition accepted, you may go to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] forum, and click under the area in which you created your character to live in. High ranks are not open to new members because we want these roles to be active and more experienced.

other roleplays.

If the roleplay is ever slow and you want something else to do, you can go to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] forum and join or create other roleplays outside of AE. If you want to submit a suggestion for another roleplay, you should post in the corresponding forum and an administrator will touch everything up for you. Keep in mind that if the topics are not made/nobody roleplays in two weeks, it will be taken down. Other roleplays can be anything appropriate. We accept fandom-based roleplays and fantasy or regular humans and animals!

general questions.

What do I do if I see someone breaking a rule?
You should contact an admin or moderator immediately, or in other words, the members with red or purple nametags. It is recommended to talk to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], the head admin, because she can take care of it lickety-split. You should provide proof, such as taking a screenshot of someone being rude to you on the chatbox. If you are accused of breaking the rules but did not, talk to an admin. We will listen.

How do I make a regular civilian?
You basically do the same thing as a regular patient audition would be, but simply remove the "Sanctuary" and "Rank" sections. If you want one of your civilians to have powers, talk to an admin to get approved and become a fugitive. Civilians cannot be roleplayed in actual Sanctuaries, only in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] forum.

What is a Mary Sue/Gary-Stu?
Mary Sue's and Gary Stu's are invincible, completely perfect characters. Everyone has their different traits, nobody is pure good or bad. These kind of characters ruin the roleplay. Your character has to get hurt sometimes. Don't make these kind of characters, and don't roleplay them.

Keep in mind that negative and positive traits are flexible, so negative traits can be stretched to be a positive trait, and vice versa.
