ryuu meyers (h)

personality. ryuu is what you'd call a...problematic teen. he's arrogant, easily loses his temper, and rebellious. he often lingers on the sidelines of the heroes' planning and doesn't care as much to defeat criminals. he only has a strong desire to enact revenge for his father on the villains; so once he's needed by the villains for the fire-power, he'll do what he needs to, but doesn't enjoy following orders. although introverted and has a tendency for ignoring people and simply scoffing at them, ryuu is a clever-thinker when it comes down to fighting. however, when he doesn't care about something, which is most of the time, he'll probably put barely any effort into it or let his grumpy attitude do the talking. 

> positive -  laser-beam emission, the power to emit lasers (usually blue combined with his pyrokinesis) that can pierce through objects and explode upon impact. the size and harmfulness of the beams can be controlled. 

> elemental - azure-pyrokinesis, the power to control and manipulate blue flames.

> negative - berserker form, the ability to become immersed into a fight with high-adrenaline, causing him to ignore physical pain and have higher stamina and strength (although not superhuman strength). however, he will become unpredictable and almost a feral type of violence; sometimes unable to tell friend from foe. this usually only gets triggered by intense emotions though, or because of a life-or-death situation. he will also suffer quite terribly after it is over; often feeling the effects of his wounds hitting him all at once, and feel very tired. rare to occur due to the requirements for it to be activated.

illnesses.  depression, probably built up over the years of constantly moving with his father often away in his job with no mother, and once his father died it hit him pretty hard. often uses his boiling anger over his father's death to distract himself. 

history.  ryuu never really knew his mother as a child growing up. she left his father, who worked in the marines, a couple of years after his birth; not able to keep up with the stress due to wondering if he'd ever get back. since she left, ryuu and his father grew closer, and often depended on each other, usually emotionally and mentally. they moved around a lot due to his father's job, but ryuu got used to it; and wherever his father went, he wanted to go to. he looked up to him greatly, as he was a wise and caring person. due to the skipping around schools, ryuu didn't have many friends besides the few he played games with, so he grew to be a bit of an introvert and lone-wolf. however, once the powers in people began, his father was busier than usual. once he came home from one of his missions, he was exhausted and had a strange air around him as if something were wrong. giving ryuu his pendent and telling him a few words of how he'd grow up to be a good person, he went out of the house, knowing he had been followed. wanting to protect ryuu, he left him and was ambushed by a couple of villains and killed. little had they known, ryuu had followed his father and witnessed the tragic event. devastated, he ran back home and called the police; overhearing their talk about bad people who hadn't been captured by the government yet...gifted with powers. ryuu swore to get revenge for his father's death, and did a lot of snooping around the supposed blast area that people rumored had started the powers. he soon developed his own abilities and began to go out at dark hunting down the villains, hoping to kill them. he never did though, and only ended up fighting off some criminals as a sort of vigilante. during one of his skirmishes with a thief, a hero found him and recruited him to their secret hideout. he's been there ever since but says he only joined because it would be a higher chance of finding the people who murdered his dad. 

extra notes.  

- ryuu means dragon!

- despite his confidence, he cannot, for the life of him, talk to pretty girls. he will just stand there looking like a lost child. 

- the rebellious teen of the heroes definitely needs 24/7 surveillance or he'll end up doing something idiotic
