Sanctuary 001 Level 4

Sanctuary 001 Level 4 is where The Dangerous Seven and criminals are kept, each receiving their own small white padded room. A single air mattress lies in the corner of the rooms, with a white pillow for the patients to rest their heads on. Most of the patients have a few possessions, like a teddy bear or blanket, and those can be kept in the corners of the room since there are no shelves or tables. The door to the room is clearly outlined by a square of cocoa brown, so it pops out against the white pads on the walls. The patients kept here are considered the most deadly and powerful that even the guards fear putting magnets in the walls. They often leave the padded room doors open, but the entire level is locked until therapy, mealtime, and other various activities they complete during the day.

Carys laid back on her bed, looking up at the ceiling and humming lowly. She held her arms up, her pinky and pointer fingers pointing upwards on each hand, and using her right pinky she lifted up one of the necklaces laying on her stomach - the red one. A subtle movement blew it to the left, where her left pinky caught it with a tendril of fire shooting out. Moving her finger so the tendril would wrap around the string and hold it up, she used her pinky finger to lift up the blue one where she created a bubble and held it up with her pointer finger next to the first. Two down. Carys used her other pointer finger to create a vine growing, wrapping it around the string of the black necklace so it looped around a few times, using that to lift it up with the other two. Using her other pinky and gritting her teeth, she lifted the other by surrounding it with air. Grinning, she turned her wrists and threw them all to the other side of the room, moving her hands so they crossed over her chest as she looked up at the ceiling again.

Daisy woke from her sleep as the florescent lighting from the hallway shone terribly bright into her room. She watched her automated door open to reveal the ugly green color of the wallpaper. She reached a hand over her shoulder to press against the bumps in her back where her wings erupted from last night when she was bored. She rolled her neck and with another hand wiped the dry blood from underneath her nose, a tax to using her powers. Curfew was supposed to be at eleven pm, but she was good friends with her cell neighbor and she wouldn't rat her out. She finally rose from her mattress and stepped barefoot across the padded floor, slipping into her day gown that was required during roaming hours. She turned her gaze to the pretty gloves that a nice worker embroidered for her ages ago curled in a corner of her room. She remembered being able to use her photokinesis through the holes in the lace, even though there was power retaining metal embedded into the part of the glove that touched her skin. The guards told her to still wear them, but she had her hands in her pockets most of the time when walking by. She shrugged and slipped them onto her hands, loving how pretty they were but hating the cold of the metal on her palms and fingertips. With a sigh she walked out of her room. "Carys! Are you awake?" she knocked on the wall that she knew connected to her friend's room, not wanting to intrude in the doorway.

Hearing Daisy's voice, Carys turned her head towards the wall and sat up, moving her legs off the bed and rolling her shoulders. Getting up, she moved over to the other side of the room and picked up her necklaces, stringing them around her neck. "Yeah," she called, taking off her shirt and rubbing her pinky which still felt slightly burned. Of course, it wasn't, but it felt hot. Pulling on her black tank top and skirt, she slipped on her long coat and moved her hair out of the way. Refusing to wear clothes given could be a good thing if you pulled it the right way, and doing it meant she got an outfit that didn't look like she was a hospital worker. Plus, she repeatedly burned, shredded and otherwise destroyed the gown given. What could she say, she was spiteful. Walking over to the doorway and rolling the black necklace between her fingers, she leaned on it and looked over at Daisy, nodding a greeting. "What's up?"

Daisy watched her friend, who managed to be fashionable even stuck in a literal jail cell. She smoothed down the creases in her day gown reflexively. "30 more minutes until roaming hours," she smiled, producing a ball of light in her hands and tossing it up and down. "Think fast!" she suddenly threw the ball at Carys with a giggle. She always felt childish playing these sort of games with her friend - after all, they were almost eighteen years old. But she couldn't help it, really. They'd lived here all their life, and roaming hours for them were shorter. So sometimes you have to make some stuff up to pass the time.

Carys grinned, catching the ball just before it hit her in the chest and throwing it back. "Are you excited?" she teased, stepping out of the doorway and against the wall instead. She formed a ball of earth with one hand, cupping it and holding the other hand over the earth and warming it up with fire so it was solid. Tossing it up and down as well, she threw it between hands and tilted her head, watching Daisy.

Daisy smiled, taking a strand of her wavy dirty blonde hair and curling it between her fingers. "Yes, of course," she said, not being able to keep the excitement out of her tone. Because they were considered the most dangerous, even to be around the other level two patients, they were only allowed to participate in roaming hours four days a week. "Where do you want to go first?" she asked, watching Carys and wondering how their powers turned out to be so different.

"Question is, do you wanna do something naughty, or something nice?" Carys asked, grinning and rolling her neck slightly, then her shoulders. Creating an orb of water, she held it in her other hand. Throwing the ball of earth into the air she made the water explode, quickly making it evaporate so nothing got wet and caught the other ball as it fell. "Sneaking around could be fun if you want to do that again, of course."

Daisy let herself get swept up in thoughts of sneaking around and causing trouble, but she knew it wouldn't end well. She shook her head and leaned back and forth on her heels, feeling like a baby every time she said something. It wouldn't hurt, the devil on one shoulder told her, and she shrugged it away. It would hurt. They could be put in the Cage. She knew the new law, in fact, had gone to the library to study it by heart. She was glad that their President didn't want to inflict too much emotional and mental damage to the patients, but he wasn't always here watching their every move. Any guard could throw them in the Cage whenever they wanted. She didn't want to seem like a goody-two-shoes, even though she had known Carys all her life. "Maybe we can mess around with some level twos," she offered with a wink. "Communal showers, then batting cage?" she thought of all the ways she could scare off some of the lower patients. They, of course, had crazy powers themselves. But she could make way crazier stuff with hers.

Carys shrugged, the corner of her mouth turning up. She wasn't too surprised Daisy didn't want to sneak around, she had to admit she was a bit disappointed, but she wasn't surprised. Brushing her hair behind her ear, she folded her arms, the ball of earth still in her grasp. "Sounds like fun. Will anybody be in the showers this early, though? Let's be honest, actually, definitely, these people are weird."

Daisy shrugged, producing a bright beam of light in her hands. She focused intently on it and, as blood trickled from her nose, the beam formed into a gun. She waved one finger over it and it turned less bright, now looking like a strange but real gun. She giggled, revealing her crooked white teeth. "Whoever's taking an early morning shower is in for quite a surprise!" she exclaimed, hoping Carys could produce something a little scarier than her attempt at a gun.

Carys laughed, looking at the gun and grinning. She held out her hand with the orb in, stretching it out into a handle, then used her other hand to get a vine and stretch it out so it was a whip. Flicking it once, she set it on fire, but so the vine wouldn't burn. "Does this work?" she asked, flicking it again so the fire went out and shrinking the vine so she could hold it more easily for now.

Daisy raised her eyebrows, still shocked at how many different things Carys could do. "That's better," she smiled, eyes lighting up when the automated door system opened the doors on each end of the hallway. She took in a breath, relishing the colder air that blew in, having slept in the terrible heat of the padded room with no air flow whatsoever. She caught a whiff of bacon, she recognized the smell because of how often the guards brought it up from the cafeteria. Daisy lifted a finger, channeling her energy and focusing intently on a small spot on the ground. She then lifted both hands, narrowing her eyes in concentration, and a puff of smoke came out, revealing a small mouse. She tossed her hair back proudly. "I'm a little hungry." she said to Carys, pursing her lips to stop from laughing aloud as she sent the mouse out the door to grab her some bacon.

Carys laughed, following Daisy through the door and breathing in the colder air. "Cute mouse," she replied, also smelling the bacon after and rolling her eyes slightly but smiling anyway. Scratching the back of her neck, she pulled on her sleeves slightly and tilted her head. "Are we waiting for it to come back before going, or will he follow you?"

Daisy bit her lip in thought, remembering back to the times in the observation room when the scientists made her create much larger animals and plants, and winced at the memory of their loud voices surrounding her. "They're not really loyal after a few hours," she explained, hearing the guard yell at her mouse and giggling. She crouched down to pick him up and patted his head, taking the thick strips of bacon it managed to stuff into its mouth and bring back to her. "But I didn't try much. So..." as she was about to tell Carys how her creations would disappear after a certain amount of time, her mouse waved its tail and simply dissolved. She ripped off a piece of bacon quite aggressively, handing another strip to Carys.

Carys took the piece of bacon, shrugging. "Thanks," she grinned, eating the piece. When she finished, she gestured towards Daisy and shrugged again. "Better than anything I can do. The only living thing I can make is a plant, and even then, I'm better with dirt," she laughed, brushing her hair over her ears again. In return, she held out her palm and made a mouse statue out of dirt, scrunching her nose at it.

Daisy finished the rest of her strip of bacon, plus two more quite loudly. She smacked her lips when she was done, and wiped her hands on her nightgown carelessly. She watched the mouse statue take form and smiled, eyes sparkling. She appreciated these mornings before roaming hours where she and Carys could just talk and mess around with their powers, before facing the strange looks of the lower patients and the hateful, watchful eyes of the guards and other workers. "That's so cute!" she exclaimed. "I just wish they could stay longer. For company." she pursed her lips, thinking about all the times she watched her creations just dissolve into thin air. That was something she liked testing in the observations room, because the longer they stayed alive, it meant she was getting stronger.

"Hey, maybe one day you'll be strong enough to keep one up throughout the night. For company when you're bored and we're all locked in, right?" Carys asked, turning to Daisy with a smile. Elements were cool, but her friend could create actual living things. She could just make statues. "Ready to go?" she asked, changing the subject with another grin and gently putting the mouse statue on the floor.

Azrail, per usual, was eavesdropping on the other level four patients to gather any useful information, but after figuring out they were only planning to have some fun, he decided to stick around. Shifting from his back leaned against the wall to standing in the doorway, he gave a charming smile. "I don't think you'd mind if I joined you two?" He questioned with a sincere look on his face, although his dull eyes betrayed his motives. "We don't get to roam around much, and last time I was put in some sort of a time out," He continued, his dazzling smile never faltering, "all because I threatened the lunch lady I would simply place my hand on her. How aggravating."

Daisy nodded at Carys, watching the statue with a smile at how cute she was able to make it look. She turned at the sound of Azrail's voice. She raised her eyebrows, surprised to see him. She of course knew all of her "siblings", but Carys was the only one she was close with. She watched him carefully, flashing her own smile in return. "Sure!" she responded quite cheerfully, hoping they could all bond. She realized with a thud of guilt in her chest that she didn't even know Azrail's powers. What a sister she was. "We were thinking of messing around with some of the level 2 patients." she told him, exchanging a glance with Carys and taking a step closer, not sure whether she should offer her hand. She always held hands with her friends. Maybe it was weird of her to do that, so she kept her arms stiff and flanked on her side.

Carys rolled her eyes slightly when she heard Azrail and turned around after a moment. "Of course," she shrugged. "We're heading to the showers first. There's always people everywhere, so, you know, why not head there."

Azrail cocked an eyebrow, tilting his head and pretending to be shocked. "The showers? How devious of you two, I'm sure this will be a great way for an introduction to make new friends," His words seeming convincing and friendly, although sarcasm was buried underneath. He lifted his hands, rubbing his wrists where the cold, metal cuffs used to be and gave a quick wink. "Let's go before they decide to keep me from having child-restrictions again," he added in. The blue eyed teen signaled with his chin to leave the room, and began strolling down the hallway confidently.

Carys rolled her eyes, following after him. "You had the child-restrictions for a reason," she called, turning back to Daisy to roll her eyes again and grin.

Levana, who had decided to follow Daisy and Carys, padded behind them as a black panther. She allowed her shadows to trail around her feet to make her look more ominous. She growled at a few guards, flexing her massive claws as they passed them.
